The possibilities and limitations of applying ‘open data’ principles in schools

A new article from an LNM project funded by the Spencer Foundation has just been published in the Cambridge Journal of Education, titled “The possibilities and limitations of applying ‘open data’ principles in schools“. The article details the development of open data applications within secondary school settings using critical participatory design methods. The results of this work offer valuable pointers to limitations of school use of digital data – not least in terms of data quality, data literacy and general organizational ‘fit’.
