Luci Pangrazio and Neil Selwyn have a new article in Pedagogy, Culture & Society that overviews their recent series of projects examining young people’s understandings of the role that digital data now plays in their everyday lives – especially in terms of the ‘data economy’ and ‘surveillance capitalism’. Titled ‘Towards a School-Based ‘Critical Data Education‘, the paper explores the technological, ethical and social challenges of doing such alternate forms of ‘digital literacy’ in schools with young people.
