Neil Selwyn & Luci Pangrazio have a new chapter published in the Wiley/Blackwell ‘International Encyclopedia of Media Literacy’. This is a two-volume collection published in conjunction with the International Communication Association (ICA). The DER chapter is titled ‘Digital Media in Higher Education‘, and provides an overview of the digital media that are present in contemporary higher education contexts and the media literacy issues that surround them. Given the distinct context of higher education, the chapter details a set of specific media literacy issues that merit consideration in their own right – offering ways forward for higher education researchers, practitioners and policymakers.
