DER member A/Prof Mike Phillips has recently returned from the highly successful EDUsummIT in Kyoto, Japan. This is was the culmination of a year long endeavour – and in which he was both a Steering Committee member and Thematic Working Group co-leader.
EDUsummIT is a global community of researchers, policy-makers and practitioners committed to supporting the effective integration of Information Technology (IT) in education by promoting active dissemination and use of research. It is under the patronage of UNESCO and works to produce key policy and strategic advice for a range of outlets.
Prior to each summit a series of working groups are formed. The members of which work together for months and then come together at the summit to finalise their conclusions and prepare a report to UNESCO and other organisations.
A/Prof Mike Phillips co-led the working group on Pedagogical reasoning and reflective practice: Teacher’s Professional Development (TPD) in online education.
