Congratulations to Michael Henderson and DER Fellow Susan Edwards (ACU), along with colleagues from ACU (lead), Deakin, Curtin and LaTrobe. The Linkage Project “Young children in digital society” (LP190100387, $556,000) was announced on Sunday by the Minister for Education Dan Tehan and is – so far – the only successful LP19 project in the field of Education.
The 4 year project will be led by DER Fellow. It aims to identify the practices enacted and shared amongst young children, their families and educators in digital society. The project is significant because in digital society families and educators face new demands ensuring technologies are used in the best interests of young children. Knowledge about practices in digital society informs adult decision-making using technologies with, by and for young children in the early years. Through this project the Partner Organisations will share exemplar practices benefiting Australian children, their families and educators with new resources, materials and programs in areas including: digital media production, cyber-safety education, digital play and digital parenting.
Partner Organisations include: Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australian Federal Police (AFP), Early Childhood Australia, The Alannah & Madeline Foundation, Office of the eSafety Commission
