LNM is excited to be part of a newly-funded collaborative research project with colleagues from Monash’s ‘Centre for Ancient Cultures’ and from Museums Victoria. The project – funded by the ‘Robert Blackwood Research Seed Scheme’ – is focusing on the the educational possibilities of using digitized artefacts in various classroom and community settings.

The latest episode (#12) of the 'Meet The Education Researcher' podcast features a guest interview with one of the LNM's visiting scholars from 2016 - Dr. John Potter (UCL Institute of Education, UK).

LNM's Neil Selwyn interviews Dr. Ben Williamson (University of Stirling, UK) about his work tracing the political implications of big data, artificial intelligence, personalised learning and bio-social technologies in the classroom.

Neil Selwyn is giving the opening keynote talk at the #PopUpDig17 conference in Gothenburg on Monday 19th June. The event will feature over 200 researchers, policymakers, government leaders and teachers - exploring critical perspectives on the digitisation of Swedish schools and the ongoing push for coding in the curriculum. Other presenters include Ben Williamson (University of Stirling, UK).

Congratulations to A/Prof Michael Henderson and LNM Fellow Prof Susan Edwards and colleagues who have won an ARC Linkage grant in partnership with Playgroups Victoria.

Neil Selwyn was interviewed on 2SER Radio's 'The Daily Show' about the growing use of apps in Australian classrooms. The discussion covered issues of privacy, the types of teaching and learning that result from apps, as well as the rise of the 'platform school'

LNM's Mike Phillips recently travelled to the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) conference in Austin, Texas. At this conference, Mike continued his work with one of the founders of TPACK, Professor Matthew Koehler from Michigan State University, together with Josh Rosenberg and Ben Zunica, PhD students from Michigan State and Monash respectively.

LNM are proud to announce LNM member Dr Michael Phillips has won the 2017 Monash Postgraduate Student Association Lecturer of the Year award.

Monash Faculty of Education is offering a scholarship of AU$40,000 p.a. for 3 years (2017-2019) for an outstanding applicant who wants to focus their doctoral research on the area of teacher knowledge and decision making in technology rich schools.
