DER@Monash will be hosting a research seminar with Roberto-Martinez Maldonado on 19th July 2018, 1400-1500. In this seminar, Roberto will discuss ‘Classroom Translucence’ as a promising metaphor for understanding how learning analytics might be brought into physical learning spaces – combining online and in-class activity traces to enhance awareness of teaching and learning practices.
The presentation will showcase a series of examples aimed at making teamwork and classroom activity more visible – from coarse-grain classroom analytics to small group and individual student modelling.
Particular attention will be paid to the potential of multimodal learning analytics in physical learning spaces to capture traces of activity that can then support learner reflection and decision making.
